A VP Information Technology is a high-level position within a company that deals with the technical aspects of the company’s computer network. 6. Address concerns by staff in regards to information security and compliance issues promptly.
7. Identify opportunities for business growth in areas such as mobile technologies, cloud computing, data analytics, and more. This is by collaborating with different departments such as sales, marketing, research/development, customer service, etc., within your organization or even within your industry sector.
8. Ensure that your department has enough personnel to meet internal deadlines and external demands. Like customer requests or regulatory compliance timeframes using interviewing skills to hire new employees when necessary. And manage departmental budgets effectively by utilizing job performance appraisals to reward good performers and dismiss poor performers when necessary. Of course, after you’ve communicated your expectations to them during their performance reviews.
9. Assist upper management with handling complex issues related to information technology including software development projects. Those that have been delayed or have failed due to unexpected technical difficulties or other reasons by being available 24/7. Via email or phone calls from coworkers who need clarification on certain matters about information technology within your organization’s network daily on a long-term basis throughout your career.
10 . Plan ways to improve the efficiency of current systems while planning ways to reduce cost while maintaining the quality of work.
